Obituary

Rose Upfold passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on August 9th, 2019 just prior to celebrating her 62nd Birthday with family and friends. Rose is survived by her daughter Melissa, her son-in-law Nicolas and her two dogs, Ferdinand and Kazak as well as family in the Muskoka and Guelph areas. Rose is also survived by her many friends who have stood steadfast during her illness. Rose is now reunited with her son Derek and her husband, Roderick in Heaven. Rose was an outgoing person who had a very positive personality.

Involved in many organizations in the community, Rose was an avid walker and could be spotted all around Sarnia striking up conversations with everyone she met. One of the kindest and sweetest people that this planet has ever seen, Rose will be missed greatly. We would like to thank the staff at Bluewater Health and St. Joseph’s Hospice, the nurses at VON and the palliative team, especially Dr. Lilly and Dr. Kim.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Gateway Room in the St. Clair Corporate Centre on August 29th from 6-8 pm. Rose’s requested a party to celebrate her life, we ask that attendees do not wear black. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society for Lung Cancer or the St Joseph's Hospice Resource Centre Of Sarnia Lambton.

Family and friends continue to celebrate Rose’s amazing life of giving, loving and humility. Arrangements are entrusted to Sarnia Cremation Services, 608 Errol Road West, Sarnia, Ontario 1-844-445-7467. Please leave a memory or condolence online at www.sarniacremationservices.com

So Very Sorry for your loss,
Rose was a wonderful person. The Upfold family lived next door to my family (the Wilkinsons) on Cotterbury Street for years. Rose always was friendly, happy, helpful, and loved her family very much. She endured a lot in her life but always kept positive.
She will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Rose passing. Many many years ago Rose was my first employer. I miss her wit and remember her Mom sitting in the store as well. I didn’t know Rod that well and her late son was just a little boy maybe one or two when I worked for Rose. May God take your family into his arms and hold you tight during your time of grief. Bless you
LL

Our deepest condolences to Melissa, Nick and the entire MacKinnon family. Rose truly was one of a kind. She suffered so much tragedy in her short life and yet she always managed a smile. She was beautiful inside and out, a special lady for sure. God’s speed my friend! Love Linda and Bob Lacroix
