Mary Louise Patten (Thomas) of London, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Huronview Home For The Aged at the age of 100.

Wife of the late Thomas Neil Patten. Mother of Leigh Selk (Jerry), of Bayfield, and their daughter Amanda Selk (Mark Craig). Great grandmother of Calvin and Allienna. Mother of Susan Patten van Baardwyk (Mike) of Bayfield, son in law Terry Walzak (the late Janie Patten Walzak) and their children Natalie (Adam Nicholson), Jordan, Emily and Great grand daughter Andie Jane. Mary was the God mother to Mike Fitzgerald and Aunt to Ted Fitzgerald. Mary is predeceased by her sister Ruth Fitzgerald.

Mary Patten was in her one hundred and first year! She was always considered a visionary. She was the oldest living Graduate of the University of Western Ontario obtaining her degree of Bachelor's of Science and Nursing.
She was a Bridge Master, Nature and Animal lover, inspiring all who knew her. She was always accepting and affirming of the differences in everyone. She will be long remembered and sorely missed.

As Mary Patten would say, "most of all, I wish you love."

Did Mary teach the RNA program for the government about 50 years agp? I had a wonderful instructor named Patten but unsure of the spelling. Regardless she seems like an incredible lady

This message of condolence is particularly for Kathy Patten Heal. Kathy, sincere condolences on the passing of your mother whom I met at the Senior Alumni/ae Lectures a few years ago. Also, a special tribute to you for the loving care which you administered to your mother for many years 24/7. Your cooking and special care probably prolonged her life immeasurably. I don't know how you gave this care while in poor health yourself and while caring for your husband, who was also in poor health. (I'm sorry that I didn't know that he had died until this obituary.) I hope that you can take some solice, knowing that you gave support for Mary beyond the call of duty of a loving daughter.
