Elizabeth Louisa Dowling of Parkhill, formerly of Mississauga, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2019, in her 81st year at Chartwell Long Term Care in Parkhill.
Married at the young age of 17, Betty and Andrew (2011) raised their family of Gord (Yvonne), Sharon (Christopher), James, Kenneth (Susi), and Richard (2015). Betty leaves a legacy in her grandchildren Jordan, Stephanie, Andrea, Brian, William, Andrew, Aaron, Christopher, Ellen, Margaret, Kailee, and great-grandchildren Danielle, Catherine, Abagayle, Brian, Xander, and Zachery. Betty will be missed by her sister Lois and is also predeceased by her parents Gordon & Lyla, and brother-in-law Ken Sparks.
Betty was an avid reader and very involved in her family's lives. A school volunteer, she attended all of the school field trips with her special egg salad sandwiches. Betty was an outside the box thinker, a trait she passed on to all of her children, with an early adaptation of computer technology. A member of the ANAF Ladies Auxillary, Betty supported the veterans from the Army, Navy and Air Force behind the scenes.
A private family memorial will take place. Family and friends continue to remember the fun-loving character of Betty, a life of loyalty, acceptance, and determination. Donations are appreciated in Betty's name to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
Arrangements are entrusted to M.Box & Son Funeral Home, 183 Broad Street in Parkhill. Please leave a memory or condolence online at www.GilpinFuneralChapel.com
